The job is being submitted so I capture (receive)the message (which works
find) first.  I then want the submission message to appear at the bottom of
the screen.  Users will submit multiple jobs.

Are those statements in the same order in your program as in your email?
That is, you receive the message then you send it? Shouldn't you send, then
receive?
