Title: RE: Submit job question.

Why not make the parm a variable e.g. parm(&parm) where parm is 2k and   CHGVAR     VAR(&PARM) VALUE('test')

Hi,
there is a CL that submits call to the program with one parm *Char 2000.
On actual call only value is being passed and not a full parameter. For
example if value of parameter will be 'test....' then call will be  Call
PGM parm('test'). Calling program pickup some memory junk because length of
the parameters does not match, incoming parameter will be in that case
'test                              <junk here>'.

Is there a way to correct it? I was thinking to pass 2001 character and
fill last one with something. Then submit job will be forced to pass full
parameter length.Calling program needs to be changed to accept 2001 parm

Thanks
