Debbie,

I have done paging via ICF. You might search the web for Telocator
Alphanumeric Protocol. The nice thing about TAP over email, web/HTTP is that
it is standard and pretty much universally implemented among paging
companies. Downside is the various complexities of async communication
application, but you may have some of that beat already with your existing
RPG pgm.

Also, is there anyone who is doing in-house paging from their AS400
possibly using RPG/ICF file as opposed to utilizing an external 
software product like Robot?   We currently use an RPG program
to page our programmer on call.  It is very basic and only dials the
pager number and upon making a connection a "tone only" page
is sent to the pager (analog, not digital).  We would like to refine
this to send a numeric page to the pager (digital).
