Dan, To see what servers are running and what ones aren't you can run the NETSTAT command (on AS/400) and take option 3 to see what servers are running. Some are self explanatory, others are not. As to the ones you need, kind of a guess. AS-database does the file transfer part (non-IFS), Telnet the Display and Printer. Most client programs want the as-svrmap running which will tell you the port of a given server if you request it by name (eg: you ask for the as-database server and it returns 8471 for the port), another server you might want started is the as-signon. Hope this helps. -- Jim Lowary > -----Original Message----- > From: D.BALE@handleman.com [mailto:D.BALE@handleman.com] > Sent: Wednesday, May 23, 2001 8:18 AM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: STRHOSTSVR *ALL & Client Access > > > I am using Client Access for Win95/NT V3R1M2 (my lowest common denominator > is an AS/400 running V3R2). > > We also have Attachmate's Extra! personal client and connect via TN5250. > This > is not my preferred 5250 client, but I use it whenever I have a connection > problem that prevents me from signing on to one of our systems with the CA > client.
