I can ping the loopback. I can also ping my own interface. I was fooling with the IP security rules and saw something about ICMP echo, I'll check that again. Problem is that I am really trying to connect to this box from another PC. This box is setup to run Lansa's deployment tool, which is a tool that keeps the PC client code up to the latest version everytime the user signs on to the system. That other client PC can't ping, and can't connect. One of the interesting things is that if I set the NIC to automatically assign an IP, it works fine. It gets the IP, gateway, etc, but it still won't work. It's like something is turning it off. That's why I agree that there is some kind of Win2k rule. Thanks. Art Tostaine, Jr. CCA, Inc.
