Rick,

I have gotten the first part to work with the parms being passed in and
everything... the next problem that I am having is on the opnqry statement.
When I go to run the statement it gives me an unmonitored message CPF9899.
I have read everything on opnqry.  I can not see what I have done wrong.
Just wondering if you had any thoughts on this?

If the date cl variable is numeric, move it (chgvar) to a char variable.
then do this:

chgvar var(&qslt) value('VAR1 *EQ "M" *AND VAR2 *GE ' *CAT &DATE)
OPNQRYF FILE((FNAME)) QRYSLT(&qslt)

you could put the selection code right in the qryslt parm, but I find it
easier to read, understand and maintain when using the variable method.

If you prompt the chgvar command (f4) it will insert extra quotes.  remove
them.
