  • Subject: Re: Don't have option to install SERVER piece of Websphere 3.5

Howdy,

Funny thing -- the same thing just happened to us! Luckily, I have joined
IBM's First Installer Customer Assistance (FICA - catchy, eh?) program, so
I called our contact and she assured me everything is fine. (Caveat: we
are installing the Standard edition -- she told me that the SERVER stuff
is only needed for the Advanced edition.)

Here are a couple of ways to verify things are okay:

1. GO LICPGM, choose option 10, and find licensed program 5769AS3. If it
is "*INSTALLED", you should be okay.

2. If you are at V4R5, you should then have installed group PTF SF99142.
To check, DSPDATARA QEJB/SF99142. You should see something like:
"Group PTF#: SF99142-03 V3R5M0 03/23/2001 3.5.3"
This verifies that the group PTF installed and you are really at WebSphere
version 3.5.3

So far, I've been very pleased with IBM's FICA program (as opposed to the
US Govt's, which seems a little more iffy! ;-)).
