James, I agree with Jim, this is a good thing !! I gotta admit, since I don't believe in a free lunch, the way this is being promoted smells of a Madison Avenue gimmick. But at the V5 teleconference, Mr. David Peter mentioned a few things about the iNation. It's intended to be a alliance of customers, IBM folk, and Business Partners. (Powerful collection of people.) It will primarily use the Internet to communicate. (Effective way to communicate.) Did you see on the "Thank you" page after you signed in: "Share your insights, suggestions, and experiences with IBM". This iNation thing seems to be an ideal opportunity for anyone on this list who has ever sent in a rant about what IBM should, or shouldn't, be doing. On the page "What is the iSeries Nation" they say "We are passionate about the IBM eServer iSeries, because if frees us to create and collaborate, to lead and succeed". I would think most of the people on this list would agree with that. The promotion is an attempt at tongue-in-cheek humor. I was very receptive to this idea, so I thought the writing was inspired. I could see where it might fall flat to others. Either way, this iNation thing has some great potential. (Of course, the proof is in the pudding.) IMO, it's time for the people who have complained about IBM (i.e. everyone on this list ;-) to put the money where their mouth is and sign up. jt -----Original Message----- From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Jim Franz Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2001 5:47 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: new campaign for ibm iSeries? as someone else said earlier-it seems to be a an effort to make contact with the users & owners of 400s/iSeriers, get some feedback, and then have contact with all of us. This is a good thing! They are not giving all this away for your first few comments, there is more coming. jim ----- Original Message ----- From: "James W.
