First, my apologies and thanks to Al Mac. Mea Culpa!

Man, I love this list! In all my AS/400 years, I have never known about this
message queue!

So I can create a message queue QSYSMSG in QSYS. How far back VnRn-wise has
IBM "supported" this message queue? (I've got one box at V3R2.)

A V4R4 softcopy search turned up 18 manual hits on QSYSMSG. Where do I start?

Note that the system doesn't ship with the QSYSMSG *MSGQ - you must
create it yourself.
Once that is done OS/400 will automatically start directing specified
'severe' messages (disk failure, power failure, etc.) to that queue.
I have my initial program set to display that message queue every time I
signon.

I forgot about this ... the volume there should be much less than DSPLOG &
more focused on what you need to be seeing.
