First, my apologies and thanks to Al Mac. Mea Culpa! Man, I love this list! In all my AS/400 years, I have never known about this message queue! So I can create a message queue QSYSMSG in QSYS. How far back VnRn-wise has IBM "supported" this message queue? (I've got one box at V3R2.) A V4R4 softcopy search turned up 18 manual hits on QSYSMSG. Where do I start? (Whatever is said in Latin seems profound.) -------------------------- Original Message -------------------------- Note that the system doesn't ship with the QSYSMSG *MSGQ - you must create it yourself. Once that is done OS/400 will automatically start directing specified 'severe' messages (disk failure, power failure, etc.) to that queue. I have my initial program set to display that message queue every time I signon. ...Neil MacWheel99@aol.com Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 2001/04/12 15:57 Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: Help w/ AS/400 power crash I forgot about this ... the volume there should be much less than DSPLOG & more focused on what you need to be seeing. > QSYSMSG MacWheel99@aol.com (Alister Wm Macintyre) (Al Mac) +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
