  • Subject: Help w/Text in Overlays made in Windows

I've been working on an overlay to replace a preprinted form.

I created the overlay in Windows and print it to a file using the IBM AFP
driver that comes w/Client Access Express. I upload it to my AS/400, and
use CRTOVL to make an *OVL object. This part works fine.

When I print, it overlays the page with my overlay as expected. Any
graphics/lines/etc on the overlay are printed as expected.

The text, however, is gibberish. It looks like maybe it's not being
converted from ASCII to EBCDIC!

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? (or which step I'm missing?)
Or doesn't text work on an overlay?

Is there a special codepage that I need to assign somewhere? If so, where
do I set it? What do I set it to (I'm in the USA, running the standard
EBCDIC on my AS/400 -- I believe thats codepage 37)

Any ideas?
