It would allow us to put a task on a menu, or in a program, or in a batch file, or be able to accomplish something from the command line. Have you ever tried to talk someone through a GUI interaction? Uh... is there a little gizmo on the left? It says "update" or "make new" or something like that. No? Pull down the edit tab. There isn't an "edit" tab? Well click around and enjoy yourself a bit while I try to remember what the secret is to this particular video game... When you really get in trouble with a Microsoft operating system, you get on the command line and fix what you have to fix. But when you are trying to do something "new" (meaning something IBM has decided to abandon the CL interface for) on an e(logo)Server iSeries Model 38 + 400 you have to hope one of Microsoft's operating systems will let you do what you have to do. But it sure is cool to use a video game interface to my business computer...
