>> MVS platform and used some of the tools they gave us on the 400... Um - it's mostly developed (in Rochester anyway) on the Andrew (Carnegie-Mellon) Unix platform these days I believe. Still some stuff that runs on the big iron but I don't think the developers work directly with it much anymore. Not that this voids your argument in any way - I've long felt that Rochester's reluctance to use what they sell is a major contributor to some of the problems with the system. PS. I couldn't help but chuckle when I read a COMMON session abstract today that touted the wonderful new development tools that we now have for the AS/400 courtesy of PACE and the Andrew toolkit!! A little ass-backwards don't you think! +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
