Let me guess - this is a 170 with a model 9910 UPS. UPS is actually a BEST/FORTRESS Known problem with the early models. Something in the micro-code on the UPS. You may or may not be able to get this fixed by IBM. We got ours replaced but that was a couple of years ago. I have heard that not using the CPM cable will prevent this from happening.
