Martin,

     If you don't reorganize the file, then you will
not gain much of the space back at all.  It is
impossible to calculate how much space you would gain
without knowing the record length.  You will gain a
little in the logical paths, but the physical file
will still 'consume' the space used by the deleted
records.  As for how long it will take - it is likely
to be a long process.  You will speed the process up
greatly by deleting all logical files that are built
over the physical file prior to reorganizing.  You
will then regenerate the logical files after the reorg
is complete. 

I would plan it for a weekend where you can let it run
un-interrupted.
