Deleting them from the physical file does not remove them - that is done with the reorg. So the physical file will be the same size. However, you might recover space if the system removes them from logical file access paths. I'm not sure if *that* happens or not. (Anyone know?) If it does occur, the amount of space you got back immediately would depend on the # of files, size of the paths, and when they are maintained. (I.e. if you had a large logical only used at yearend and it was set up to update the access path at the next use, you wouldn't see any size reduction on it until then unless you forced it to rebuild earlier.) -Ilena Ayala +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
