We installed the BRMS product during system upgrade and we have no plans to use that product.  We use our tape drives many times a day.

Reading thru the archives, I saw a post which said that BRMS changes some exit points during the install, and that if its grace period counts down to 0 the tape drive is disabled.  Since it changes exit points, what are the pitfalls (if any) if I just DLTLICPGM on that thing before it gets to 0?

This has been discussed recently,
see post below-

This is the Media & Storage Extensions feature (see backup &  recovery
guide). BEWARE when this feature expires you will NOT be able to use  your
tape drive ! that's right, no normal backup or recovery  possible!

By the way it's a chargable product which our client never  wanted but it got
loaded somehow during an OS install (V4R4).

We recently  upgraded to a model 270, and now I see messages telling me that the license  for 5769SS1 feature 5103 will soon expire.  What is 5103?
