I agree with Don.

I was just at Websphere2001 in Las Vegas.  There were over 4,000 attendees, a
number of vendors (not as many as at Common), and lot's of usable and exciting
technology available today.  Granted it is somewhat intimidating, confusing, and
ever changing environment but in my opinion is that most of this stuff is viable
as a technology.

The main skills recommended repeatedly during this conference? Java and XML.

FYI - The ISeries presence was somewhat muted but there were several (not
enough) ISeries only sessions as well as some ISeries booths at the vendor
exposition.
