Some quick things to consider: Test moving the tape drive (would it be a disaster if in the middle of the conversion you had to go back to the 510?) Do you have lots of twinax or 5250 devices? Have you considered the interactive processor speed on the 720? If too small, users will suffer. Is 720 already loaded w/OS & running? All same license products, and #users per license? Don't attempt this without IBM Customer Support 24x7. I won't do any upgrade without it. Any non-IBM products with license keys? There is a book from IBM, that goes into detail about these upgrades. AS/400 System Upgrade Road Map (RISC to RISC) book, SA41-5155-03). A lot of detail, but worth looking at on-line. jim ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cyndi Bradberry" <CyndiB@IHFA.ORG> To: "'Midrange-L@midrange. com' (E-mail)" <Midrange-L@midrange.com> Sent: Friday, March 16, 2001 10:34 AM Subject: Box Upgrade > Hi All, > > Can anyone give me a confidence level on going from a Model 510 to a 720 in > one weekend ?
