We would recommend you look at LANSA for the Web (be warned we are now LANSA partners but we did try other tools first & this is by far the best). Response times are great, sub 2 secs for complex calculations & database access (if you have no line contention). I'v done some back to back testing with LANSA versus JAVA & RPG backend (Websphere) and LANSA is faster AND the CPU utilization for JAVA/RPG/Websphere is up to 50% higher! Plan a big box if you go the Websphere/JAVA route and are expecting more than 1 user. I want to have real time access to the AS/400 data base. Is anyone doing this? What are the pitfalls? Can you get good response time with this method? Is there a better, best Web tool out there that makes this easier? > >+--- >| This is the Midrange System Mailing List! >| To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. >| To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. >| To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. >| Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com >+--- > > +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
