The Client Access Express Toolkit provides wizards that will generate example code for you. If you have express installed correctly, there will be a new menu option within the VB IDE called "Express Toolkit". Open the menu & select "Link Tables". This wizard will generate the code necessary to connect to a PF or LF. This redbook http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/sg245183.html? Open will also provide you with numerous examples of using the toolkit. Lastly, you can't use ADO Data Controls with the current (supported) version of Express - you need to download the latest beta software from: http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/clientaccess/beta/express.htm The beta (finally!) updates the OLEDB level to 2.5, and the data controls are all functional.
