Buck,

I understand what you are saying.....That needs to be compared to the cost
of the time you are down for disk replacement and possible full system
restore.....The cost of disk units have come down to where RAID 5 protection
is pretty cheap insurance for disk failure.

Also consider this:  I have three AS/400's here at NAMC and have had 3
failures since Nov. 2000.....One of them during the install of V4R5 in mid
December.......With RAID 5 in place, I was able to get through the install
and have the disk unit replaced after the PTF CUME was installed.

You got to weigh all the costs of downtime no matter how big the
shop........
