There are no Pros.......other than more usable disk space available.
 
The big Con is when a disk unit fails, your system goes down until the disk unit is replaced.  Depending on the type of failure, the contents of the failed disk unit may not be recoverable..........In that case, bust out the last full system backup and get ready for a scratch install of the system.........
