SAVCFG is a good idea. I might be mistaken but I think there is a chart in
the Backup and Recovery Guide which lists which SAV* commands are subsetted
in another. For example, again I might be mistaken (disclaimer), but
SAVCFG might be part of the SAVSYS. I know there is a caveat about doing a
RSTCFG on another box. There is an option to take to omit some really low
level stuff or you'll trash the new box.

One thing we do in our nightly is a RTVCFGSRC and then save that source
file. Makes it pretty easy to recreate a device, controller or whatnot
without having to use tape.

Yes. SAVCFG? We don't do that one currently. Is that another part of the
SAVSYS?

Sheesh, what else is there? What other SAV* commands are there that can be
run in an UNrestricted state that a SAVSYS would normally save?

Do you use TCP/IP? You'd probably not want to loose all of that config
especially DHCP or DNS configs which can be quite a lot of typing!!.
You'll want to be saving \QIBM\USERDATA whenever you do SAVCFG.
