LMTCPB(*YES) is not a "good idea" it is a requirement (well, *PARTIAL is the
requirement). A LMTCPB(*NO) user can specify an initial program on the
signon screen and that will override the INLMNU option.

The quickest way is to have the initial menu as *SIGNOFF; then no
5250(telnet) session can use this id. Limit capabilities *YES is also a
good idea; and you should think about what else this opens up for a security
hole depending on your system set-up (ODBC, FTP, ect)

Subject: Creating "Crippled" User Ids

I'm trying to create a User Id that cannot be used from a 5250 session.
I'm certain I've done this in the past but I'm darned if I can find any
likely parameters in the user profile.

Can someone give my old gray matter a nudge please.
