Have been reading your problems, even gave a couple of suggestions. I do
not know why you are having so much trouble. I have 3 AS400 with 10.
addressing and I can ping outside with the simple addition of the default
route to our internet router. I can even ping thru our WAN to 172. and 198.

My only guess is that your AS400 is doing 802.3 only and your
router/switches/hubs some where in the network does not. My guess is your
router is doing only 802.2 But these are only guesses. I cannot remember
if you responded to my suggestions or already check on this.

Good Luck and have a relaxing weekend.

Hmmm... have you been reading my posts about including the AS/400 on a 10.
network? If so, perhaps you may be able to understand my reticence to tag
the AS/400 with the rating of "excellent" as a web server. Every other
machine on my network is perfectly happy as a 10. address, but my AS/400
refuses to speak to the outside world.
