We have a customer (who may be reading this....) that added some third party memory to his model 500. In the process some pins got bent in such a way that there was no way they were being used. The system also came up with an SRC (I don't have it handy) which spoke about performance issues. However the System reported the memory as being there in SST and was using it (per WRKSYSSTS etc). The performance problem I surmise was that error correction was required on all data in that section of memory due to the missing pins.
