Hi, Jeffrey:

I've been reading with mounting interest and amusement (where applicable)
the discussion of the IP routing problem. Looks like, indeed, there is an
issue ('specially based on the 10.22.22.22 ping test).

Ummm.... say, what? I don't follow this.

For the record, I too have AS/400s on my network. And DSL. But for my
world connection, I use a Linux server connected to a DSL modem. I have
reliability, a DMZ, great firewalling and all the IP functions you'd ever
want. And it cost me ... ummm let's see: $900 for PC... $0 for linux, $0
for software, $0 for extras... oh, it's just too difficult for me to add up.
:^) The AS/400 is great, yes, but it's still not quite there for the TCP/IP
world. Case in point: this topic.

Amen to that! But isn't it a little unfair to compare against the worlds
worst operating system? (Discounting, of course, all preceding versions of
Windoze.) OF COURSE you're gonna win!

Yes, indeedy! How much more secure can you get, than if you cannot be
reached, nor can you reply outside? :^)

> But hey, it takes more skill to drive a JAG than a VW bug !!

Ouch! That analogy! Yes, the AS/400 runs like a Jag, but maintenance and
skill required to operate skillfully are more like a beetle.
