You call it "adopted authority", but are you using a program where the USRPRF parameter is set to *OWNER? That is what people most commonly refer to adopted authority. If the answer to this question is yes, then your application will already correctly log the user who made the change. Journal entries, joblogs, and messages will all identify the job user as the party who made the changes.
