Hello, I was trying to access a 9406 model 500 but do not have the orginal terminal that was connected to it (which is a long story about companies being brought-out and sold). There was an adapter that came out of card slot #7 that had a ethernet cable that went to a port connector and then the terminal was plugged into the port connector. I took another terminal off a model 170 but there is nowhere to plug it in the back of the model 500, and the port connector for the model 170 does not have an ethernet connection. So I then took a PC and a hub and connected it to the ethenet connector on the back of the model 500 (create a little network) but the PC does see the AS400. Ping does not find the machine and it does not show up on the network neighbor. Any idea's on how to access this model 500 that has an ethernet adapter on the back? Is there a way to directly connect a dum terminal to this machine?
