Hmmm. The only thing I can think of is to specify SNDFMT(*NOTE) on the
SNDDST command.

     Albert,

Thanks for the tip. I ran the command:
     CPY OBJ('/MMTEST.TXT') TODIR('/QDLS/SYSDOC') DTAFMT(*TEXT)
     then
     wrklnk '/qdls/sysdoc/mmtest*.txt'
and used option 5 to view. It looked good.
     Then I used:
     CHGDOCD DOC(MMTEST.TXT) FLR(SYSDOC) DOCD('List of data')
     SNDDST TYPE(*DOC) TOUSRID((ROB DEKKO)) DSTD(DESCRIPTION) MSG('This
is some
     whopper of a message') DOC(MMTEST.TXT) FLR(SYSDOC)
to send the email. The attachment still was scrambled.

Try specifying DTAFMT(*TEXT) on the CPY command.

          I have a file that I use
          CPYTOIMPF FROMFILE(*LIBL/&FILE) TOSTMF(&IFSFILE) RCDDLM(*CRLF)
on. I can view this file by using DSPF and it looks great. I
can
     download
this file using FTP and it looks great.
When I copy to QDLS system using the CPY command or use
CPYTOIMPF to
     go
directly to QDLS system it looks like crud, garbage,
hieroglyphics,
          whatever.

Goal: To send an email out with a usable attachment.
I want one of two solutions:
          1) Get the document to not hose up when I move it into QDLS
and use
          SNDDST.
          2) Figure out how to set up the email to have an attachment so
I
     can use
          the send mail API, QtmmSendMail.

I've used the API in the past to send email. The trick for me
is
     learning
how to code the MIME for an attachment. Does anyone have a
sample?
     My
attachment is a simple .txt file.
