  • Subject: redirecting stdout in qshell
  • From: Mike Eovino <meovino_ml@xxxxxxxxx>

I would like to redirect the output of the ls -l
command in qshell to a file.

If I look at the info on qshell provided at

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/v4r4/ic2924/info/java/rzahz/qshell.htm

I would think the syntax would be

ls -l> outfile

where outfile is the name of the file I want the
output redirected to. However, I get the following
error:

qsh: 001-0055 Error found creating file outfile.
Operation not supported.

I'm sure I'm doing something stupid (I'm not a UNIX
guy, I just need this info put into a file for
analysis. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!
Mike E.
