FTP Help needed

Can anyone tell me what the message "550 Request rejected" means in FTP?
It was issued in response to a PUT for a savefile from the PC to the
AS/400.  The previous request to PUT another savefile to the same library
worked fine.

As a more generic question, where are these messages described?
