Couldn't you just use the FTP command EBCIDIC?

        Subject: EBCDIC-to-ASCII

I have a file that is created in the evening and has to be FTPd to a
non-400
service. Therefore, the file has to be transfered in the evening
unattended.
I need to add a conversion routine to change from EBCDIC-to-ASCII
and then
FTP the job. It has to go in a CLP because FTP transfer is
dependent on a
multiple of things completing normally first.

My question, is there a EBCDIC-to-ASCII program/rountine that I can
put into
my clp that will translate file A EBCDIC into file B ASCII so I can
FTP B.

        Larry
