Not flocking? What was expected? My goodness Java has been on the radar for just 6 years and there is lots of it out there. Java is a career choice, not some casual decision about what to do on Saturday afternoon. It is my opinion that Java has a good chance of being in this for the long haul because the Microsoft fans are going to get tired of sudden changes, product withdrawals, aborted paradigms, and $4,000 Certification courses that have no value a few years hence. As time goes by managers will get tired of the hamster wheel known as The Microsoft Solution and Java will look like an old and trusted friend. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ "Leif Svalgaard" <leif@leif.org> Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 01/31/2001 11:20 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> cc: Subject: Re: Java is now dead From: <boldt@ca.ibm.com> > No, Java's not dead, but there are a lot of other > reasons why developers haven't flocked to Java I don't disagree, but, Hans, would you elaborate on some of these other reasons? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
