well, according to M$, today's java applications are legacy systems.
This is a quote from today's microsoft.com site (yes, they are up):

"JUMP to .NET gives customers a number of paths for migrating 
their Java language investments to the .NET platform"

"migrating ... investments to" is a phrase normally used 
with legacy applications.
