Leif I'd have to agree with Ken(see below). I'm running PRMS( ya pansophic ), We've been running it since 1990. Is old? Yes, Is it fancy? No. However from a cost/return perspective from the company it has been great. It handles OE, AP,AR,GL, Purch, Production, Inventory. Billing. day in day out. Over the years we have grown many company specific enhancements (that would not be in ANY new ERP package and would have to be built again). However I do agree with you in that "If we were to look today for a new package" Would we look at it? I don't think so. When you say "Name a Great Car" No one ever mentions the 6 year old car they have that has given them 100k+ mileage with no major breakdowns(hence very cost effective over 6 years). They immediately think only of New cars. I understand that. Name a great application period. To my knowledge MS hasn't enhanced Solitaire in 5 or 10 years regardless of the fact that it is probably the most widely used program on MS systems. I define a great application as one that runs efficiently long after the invoice is paid, say ten years or more. In my eyes, all the AS/400 applications with this kind of history are not just great but...
