Have you tried doing a STRTCPSVR *FTP?  I assume you can ping the 400.  Do a netstat option 3 to see of the FTP server is running.  Also in sbs QSYSWRK you should see the FTP server jobs running, they usually begin with QTFPTxxxxxx.  Can you FTP to the 400 from a PC?  Try going to a DOS prompt and typing FTP system.  This will help determine if the problem is the server, the client or the network.

We ftp files for our EDI system between out two AS/400's.  We re-booted one of the AS/400's a couple of days ago.  Now I cannot FTP  from  "Junior"  to "Senior".  I get  -  cannot connect to host try later.   I re-started all the tcpservers and still nothing.   I can start ftp on the other box and reach "Junior",  so I'm assuming there is something else that was not started on this box outside of TCP?
