And an added bonus may be (again if you have both drives) that you can append to the tape you are going to. I recently had to move stuff from some low density tapes to a much higher density. I was able to DUPTAP the first one normally but *LEAVE the "to" tape. Plug in the next "from" tape and on the DUPTAP command, change the "to sequence number" option to *END. Do this for as "many to one" as you need to DUPTAP! It consolidated many tapes into one for me! -----Original Message----- From: Larry Bolhuis [mailto:lbolhuis@arbsol.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 23, 2001 11:26 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: duplicate a backup tape If you have two drives, use DUPTAP - Best option. If you have only one, but have TAA Tools use DUPTAPIN and DUPTAPOUT. If you have neither of the above, find a friend who does! Actually you can use the LABEL parameter to force the tape file name to what you want during the save, but you're still in for a LONG haul. Dual drives is the answer. - Larry Mary Koetting wrote: > > I need to duplicate 40 backup tapes (with multiple libraries) that were > created with a SAVLIB command.
