And an added bonus may be (again if you have both drives) that you can
append to the tape you are going to.  I recently had to move stuff from some
low density tapes to a much higher density.  I was able to DUPTAP the first
one normally but *LEAVE the "to" tape.  Plug in the next "from" tape and on
the DUPTAP command, change the "to sequence number" option to *END.  Do this
for as "many to one" as you need to DUPTAP!  It consolidated many tapes into
one for me!

If you have two drives, use DUPTAP - Best option.
If you have only one, but have TAA Tools  use DUPTAPIN and DUPTAPOUT.
If you have neither of the above, find a friend who does!
Actually you can use the LABEL parameter to force the tape file name to
what you want during the save, but you're still in for a LONG haul. 
Dual drives is the answer.
