Re: FSIOP & V4R5

Pete,

I believe any FSIOP/IPCS card that can't run NT on it will not work with
V4R5. In order to use the ethernet adapter as just an adapter it required
OS/2, which has been discontinued for V4R5. All OS/2 based FSIOP products
are no longer supported or shipped.

I have two systems that we are upgrading from V4R4 to V4R5, which have the
FSIOPs (or
whatever name of the month we are currently using).  They are feature codes
6506 &
6617.  We run an NT environment on one of them.  What I can't figure out,
is in the
upgrade doc, it says that *some* FSIOPs after upgrading to V4R5 will lose
the ability
to run them as straight Ethernet adapters which we are using as well.  We
do not want
to lose that functionality.  What I need to know are these the cards that
will lose
this functionality?

    Is anyone using either of these cards on V4R5, and does the regular
Ethernet
still work?
