Ron, there have historically been problems with RSTDSP especially when playing around with prompt window type code via separate programs. IIRC RSTDSP only seems to work once off and then needs a new write/exfmt of the underlying display file to avoid a black screen when you display the next window. Some things can simply not be avoided and I know that in the dim and distant past (couple of years ago) I banged my head against this problem log and hard (sheer bloodymindedness often works for me) but never got a satifactory solution.
