OK, so this is a terminology confusion.
If you are using AS/400 MPTN(aka ANYNET) support for SNA over IP, then SNA
LU names to IP addresses mappings are done on AS/400 (host table).

If you are using some kind of outboard SNA over IP emulation, then AS/400
does not know anything about it (it thinks it's a real SNA), so check IP
router configuration (by the way, it will not be in an IP router role per
se in such case).
AS/400 should have an APPC controller type *LAN, which should point to IP
router MAC address. Network IDs and SNA location names should be
coordinated between router and AS/400.

Subject: SNA over IP communication (2)

All,

Many thanks for your replies,

I should have mention it before,
but all our controllers for the outgoing communications
are "normal" APPC-controllers ( linktype = *LAN not *ANYNW).

We have Anynet allowed because we have some remote workstation controllers.
There I have indeed an entry in the host table.
Not for the connections in question. ( working or not )
There is only an entry in the QAPPNRMT configuration list for them.

I've checked the other parties and only one of them is using Anynet
for the same reason.
On neither of the machines is there an entry in the host table.

So my big question remains : where is the relation defined between the
SNA definitions and the IP-address ?

TIA

Chris
