Hi Ken!

Yes, CICS is still supported on the AS/400. Most of the folks we've run into
using it on the AS/400 treated it as a temporary bridge for migrating
applications to the AS/400. Once on the AS/400 they were converted to native
AS/400 Cobol applications.

If the the applications are pretty straight-forward and there aren't a *lot*
of them, you should be able to convert them to native AS/400 applications
pretty quickly. You'll be happier with the native versions. Of course, any
assembler routines will have to be re-written.

If you go with CICS on the AS/400 be sure you have your support line
contract up to date. You'll need to be talking to those CICS/400 folks at
IBM <g>
