Hi Ken! Yes, CICS is still supported on the AS/400. Most of the folks we've run into using it on the AS/400 treated it as a temporary bridge for migrating applications to the AS/400. Once on the AS/400 they were converted to native AS/400 Cobol applications. If the the applications are pretty straight-forward and there aren't a *lot* of them, you should be able to convert them to native AS/400 applications pretty quickly. You'll be happier with the native versions. Of course, any assembler routines will have to be re-written. If you go with CICS on the AS/400 be sure you have your support line contract up to date. You'll need to be talking to those CICS/400 folks at IBM <g> Patrick --- IBM AS/400 communications, FTP automation, and eCommerce software and consulting services. http://www.patownsend.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Graap, Ken" <keg@exchange.gasco.com> To: "'Midrange'" <midrange-l@midrange.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 26, 2000 10:34 AM Subject: CICS for the AS/400 > Is anyone using CISC/400? > > We are migrating some CICS based applications from an IBM mainframe to the > AS/400 and these applications are currently running in a CICS environment. > > The most current manual I can find is for V3R1...
