We run IBM Save 21 every nite. Our steps are to bring all user activity to an end one way or another, then run ENDSBS, then do the Save 21 with its end all activities. We do the extra ENDSBS because if printers are active, there are some system objects that cannot be saved, which leads to error messages that are difficult to decipher. We prefer a clean save with no hassles with any error messages. I have created a menu just for the nitely Save & Just-In-Case stuff, so that when I am indisposed or vacation or some expedition, it does not take a rocket scientist to bring down M/36, reinitialize the tape, save everything, relaunch M/36, verify all remotes are connected, kill all joblogs, etc. & I do not have to remember various keystroke strings ... just CALL NITE MacWheel99@aol.com (Alister Wm Macintyre) (Al Mac) AS/400 Data Manager & Programmer for BPCS 405 CD Rel-02 mixed mode (twinax interactive & batch) @ http://www.cen-elec.com Central Industries of Indiana--->Quality manufacturer of wire harnesses and electrical sub-assemblies - fax # 812-424-6838 +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
