  • Subject: User API to find current work station
  • From: bvining@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Erick,

As a given user profile can be in use at more than one work station at
a time I would suggest looking at the List Job API (QUSLJOB) which can
be found in the Work Management category of system APIs. If you had
a user space named QTEMP/DEVICES the following call would get you a list
of all active jobs initiated by VINING:

call qusljob ('DEVICES QTEMP' 'JOBL0100' '*ALL VINING *ALL'
'*ACTIVE')

You could then run through the generated list and use the job name to
determine each work station in use. Using this approach will not catch
jobs that have been swapped to VINING from another profile but I don't
think you're looking for that type of activity. You will need to filter
out jobs associated with the user profile that are not interactive (see
Job type returned with each list entry).
