Title: RE: AS400 4sale @ Egghead

If you bought the machine from Eghead, there is a third party from which it came; In my case Verified Systems Solutions. Since the machine should have OS/400 on it because that is the way IBM originally delivered them, all you need to do is set up a customer number with IBM using the machines serial number, as well as talking to the third party that delivered the machine and set up a swap with a machine that has the OS installed.

Jeez, I thought IBM was done pulling this cr*p!

I get on IBM's web site, finally find a page where I can "buy" OS/400, but
need to "call for price".  Talk to a rep of some sort at the 800-426-2255
number, says I need a customer number.  I just want an idea of how much
OS/400, RPG, ADTS costs, I reply.  "I'm sorry I can't...  blah blah... serial
number... blah blah... call the seller... blah blah blah... I'll be happy to
help you... blah blah blah".  Figuring out I'll get nowhere fast with this gal
(polite to the "T", BTW), I end the conversation and, against my better
judgement, call Egghead.  That turned out to be a waste of five minutes, too.

Alright, so before I burn anymore brain cells on this frustration, can someone
point me to a price list for OS/400, RPG, ADTS on a P05 model 2130?

Also, what's the AS/400 model where the license for the OS and the LPPs go
with the box, even when it changes owners?

Folks:

There are 32 units of  IBM AS400 Model 2130 Server on clearance sale at
Egghead for $250 + $185 shipping.  Seems to have no os or software.  Is
this a good deal?  You can see the description below.  I am tempted to
get one but have no idea of the software cost for P05.
