Al, I also checke the New V4R5 System  Builder Book and on page 448 it does
have the V4R1 to V4R5 designated as a valid upgrade path. Thanks for
responding hope you had a good thanksgiving.

I guess i  your  travels you have  found  some  breakage in the manuals
statements. 

Since problems exist in the process  why  not issue corrections?
