We have recently implemented a replacement solution. Our old time clocks
were IBM ELF terminals which have seen better days. We implemented Intermec
terminals (some wireless) over our TCP/IP network including remote
locations. They are programmable in C. Production reporting hasn't been
implemented yet but is in process.
The ELF terminals used a PC as a controller and then fed data to the AS/400.

The new system writes the data to a folder in QDLS directly and then is
copied to database files as needed.
