We have GEAC System 21 on the AS/400 and SQL Server 7 on NT. We copy a large number of the System 21 files onto the SQL Server each night for historical reporting and decision support work. We use Data Transformation Services in SQL to pull the data across, with VBScripts to convert the 7 digit dates into datetime values. I create views as required over the individual tables. Last night's run took around 9 hours for 11,336,954 records. Gary Holliday ---------------------------- Gary.Holliday@Smedleys.co.uk Smedleys Foods Wardentree Lane Pinchbeck, Spalding Lincs.
