I was thinking he wanted to do a "fold" type of thing which I believe needs to be handled differently in a Windows or Java environment. I have never been able to do a multi-line subfile record with VARPG, but the few times I wanted to I soon realized my real problem was a messed-up design. One nice thing about the VaRPG subfile though is being able to select one line, several contiguous lines, or select non-contiguous lines, all for processing at one time. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ jpcarr@TREDEGAR.COM Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 10/06/2000 01:15 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: multiline subfile varpg >Hello, >I work with VisualAge RPG (VARPG), can you help me to find how can i create a multiline subfile??? >thanks (1) Pull Subfile part onto your canvas (2) Set selection style to single (one subfile record per line) (3) Select Field list - define your subfile fields, referencing the DB2 fields you want to display (4) Retrieve the values from the DB2 table, move them into the subfile fields, and write to the subfile +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
