Subject: Sorting large file

Folks,

I have a sequential file of 10,000,000 80-character text records.
How do I sort the file the most efficiently?

Leif

I do not know if it is efficient or not, in the past on a smaller record count
text file, maybe 1/2 million records. I put a *rebld logical that sub-stringed
out the "KEY" fields for the sort. Then I reorganized the Physical file by that
logical, that was 6 years ago. It took a month of printed Invoices to a file to
be Microfiched.
